National Chamber Conducts the First Ever National Business Excellence SUMMIT -2014

Ceylon Biscuits Quality Circle Team (Gold Award) makes its presentation

National Business Excellence Summit organized for the first time and conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka was held on 21 & 22 March 2014 at the BMICH. The flag ship of the National Chamber of Commerce the “National Business Excellence Awards” has been conducting for the last 10 consecutive years to identify and award excellent business Companies in Sri Lanka .The National Chamber of Commerce to take the excellence concept further, introduced the first National Business Excellence Summit – 2014 which was held as a two day event, at the BMICH. The event presented case studies by heads of leading business organizations who were  winners of National Business Excellence Awards during the past 10 years, speaking on their journey to achieve business excellence. Development of quality and productivity in Sri Lanka was the theme of the event. There were interesting Team Excellence competitions on Quality Circle, Continuous Improvement, and competitions on Poster/Slogan and Kaizen Suggestions by leading companies. Additionally, to inculcate the importance of quality & productivity among the school children, School Debates/Quiz programs were also conducted at the event. Awards were presented to the Gold, Silver & Bronze winners at the conclusion of the event. Ceylon Biscuits Ltd won the God Award for the Best Quality Circle and the Team of  Associated CEAT (Pvt) Ltd. won the Gold Award for Best Continuous Improvement Team. National Business Excellence Summit 2014 organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka for the first time was successfully concluded at the  BMICH recently
