Sri Lanka Telecom PLC  won the Gold Award at the National Business Excellence Awards 2012 . The award Ceremony  was held  on Tuesday, 4 December 2012 at the event Hotel – Colombo Hilton for the 9^th consecutive year conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. At this glittering ceremony selected business organizations that excelled in overall performance and made significant contributions to the socio economic development of the country was awarded. Out of the several Companies that participated at the competition, Sri Lanka Telecom PLC-won the  Gold Award, Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings PLC – Silver Award  and Bank of Ceylon- Bronze Award Altogether 92 Awards were distributed at the event.The final selection of winners were carefully made by a competent panel of judges who are experts in the field headed by Prof. Uditha Liyanage, Director of Postgraduate Institute  of  Management.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was His Excellency Dr Jurgen Morhard, Ambassador of Germany in Sri Lanka.
