At a recent seminar held on “Bilateral Trade with Vietnam” at the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, on 11th August 2011, H.E.Ton Sinh Thanh, Ambassador of Vietnam addressed the members and said that there are many opportunities for Sri Lankan business in Vietnam. He said that Vietnam can invest in Sri Lanka in projects like oil and gas exploration, telecommunication, aquaculture, agricultural machineries etc. In terms of tourism, he invited delegations from Sri Lanka to Vietnam and vice versa and see his beautiful country. Vietnam received 5 million foreign tourists last year and can promote two way tourism between the two countries. He also invited participation in trade fairs from both sides, sign agreements and setting more connectivity such as banking, shipping, telecommunication and direct flights.
