The National Chamber of Commerce in association with National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka and the Vocational Training Institutions conducted a Job/Career Fair on 4 November 2015 in Polonnaruwa ,with great success. The event was an opportunity for Employers to find employees to fill their job vacancies and school leavers/job seekers to find suitable employment. Skilled labour was available in the areas of automobile, painting, plumbing, air-conditioning, agriculture, information technology, welding, electrical, tailoring carpenters, computer hardware. Interviews by prospective employers and an awareness seminar was also conducted at the venue for the job seekers. School leavers and graduates were eligible to participate. 20 companies participated with over 1200 applicants.
