National Chamber Conducts CSR Health Awareness Program for Women
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in association with the Apeksha Fertilitycare Pvt Ltd conducted a Women’s health awareness seminar for the well being of women in general , on 1 October 2015 at the Chamber auditorium.
The chamber conducted this program as a part of their CSR welfare activity for the chamber members as well as for others free of charge.
The speaker Dr Champa Nelson, Director of Apeksha Fertilityhcare Pvt Ltd, well known in this field, addressed on the following areas:-* Infertility and its management,*Female cancersFamily planning * Obesity/well women screening* Abortion/ *Menopause/ menstrual disorders.The participants had an opportunity of getting free medical advice from the Counsellor at the event.
A seminar on “ Health Awareness Program for Women ” was held at the chamber on 1 October 2015 by Apeksha Research Centre, addressed by Dr. Champika Nelson, Health Counsellor
The Chamber constructed and donated a fully equipped toilet facility complex for the teachers at Rajasinghe Maha Vidyalaya

As a CSR project, the Chamber constructed and donated a fully equipped toilet facility complex for the teachers at RajasingheMahaVidyalaya,Dematagoda,a much needed requirement. The School consisting of about 40 teachers and 800 students,had a very low level of sanitary facilities with only one toilet for the entire staff. Therefore, as a CSR activity, the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka undertook to construct a toilet facility for the teachers at the Chamber’s cost. It was officially handed over to the School authorities on 3 December 2014 by a former past President, Mr D Eassuwaren in the presence of Chamber officials, Mr Thilak Godamanna, Senior Deputy President, MrSujeeveSamaraweera, Deputy President, Zonal Directors of the Dept of Education, Mr Bandula Dissanayake, Secretary General/CEO and Mr Tissa Ruberu, Manager Administration and co-ordinator for the project.
The plaque unveiled at the entrance to the sanitary complex facility at the Rajasinghe Vidyalaya.
