The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka won the prestigious Global Commerce Excellence Award – Governor’s Challenge Trophy 2011 at a recently concluded grand award ceremony held on 14^th December 2011 at Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo. The award was granted in recognition of the valuable contribution made by the National Chamber of Commerce towards the business and economic development of the country. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the President. Mr Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of Central Bank of Sri Lanka presented the Award to Mr Asoka Hettigoda, President of NCCSL. The event was organized by the Shippers Academy of Colombo,under the patronage of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Sri Lanka Port Authority.
