Seminar on ‘EPF & ETF’- in progress

A half  day seminar on ‘EPF & ETF’ in  English language was held on Tuesday,25 February  2014 from 1330 h to 1700 h at the Chamber Auditorium. The Seminar  explained  the legal aspects,  withdrawal conditions and benefits of EPF and ETF and  other information that any employer or employee should know with regard to EPF & ETF. Also the type of employees covered, salaries, allowances and other payments, correct submission of payments & returns, obligations of employers, and procedures of claiming benefits and withdrawals. Resource persons  were Mr B Wasanthan, Deputy  Commissioner  of  Labour EPF  and Mr J M S B Udugama, General Manager, ETF Board.

One Day Workshop on Import Procedures- progress

A  One day Workshop on Import Procedures & Documentation was conducted on Saturday 1 March 2014 from 0830 h to 1630 h at the Chamber auditorium .The workshop was very comprehensive covering almost all topics for those involved in importing, buying and sourcing from overseas with an overview of the principles involved in successful importing, tips on how to avoid problems and ensure smooth running of contracts, profitably. The resource person was  an expert in this field, Mr. J A D A Perera, Deputy Director of Customs, Sri Lanka Customs who has over 30 years of experience at Sri Lanka Customs in various departments. The workshop was well attended and commended by participants present. 

One day Workshop on Export Procedures & Documentation

One Day Workshop on Export Procedures & Documentation was held on 15 March 2014 from 0830 h to 1630 h  at the chamber auditorium. Workshop was conducted by a well experienced Consultant and a visiting lecturer well conversant in this trade. He gave a detailed explanation on basic requirements & administrative procedures for exporting, Customs procedures, methods of settlement of payments and the latest procedures on the export trade.
